So what's it all about? Well, the vuvuzela is a stadium horn (plastic trumpet) popular amongst South African football fans who see it as a unique part of their football culture. This noisy horn has also been causing quite a stir amongst visiting football fans who are not accustomed to its loudness. Footy fans attending this years FIFA World Cup have even reported temporary hearing loss and have complained about the vuvuzela drowning out traditional singing and match commentary. That's one powerful horn!
